Vinyl Care Instructions
Vinyl is tough, but even the best materials need regular care to perform at their best. With a simple monthly routine, you can keep your spa cover looking great and lasting longer. Below are the recommended cleaning and conditioning steps to protect your vinyl from sun, moisture, and everyday wear.
🧽 Clean Monthly
- Once a month, remove the cover and lay it flat on a clean surface (like your deck or patio).
- Rinse thoroughly with a hose or bucket to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Using a soft-bristle brush, scrub with a gentle solution (1 tsp of dish soap to 2 gallons of water).
- Use circular motions and avoid letting soap dry on the surface and rinse thoroughly.
💧 Condition the Vinyl
- After cleaning, apply a vinyl conditioner or a quality saddle soap as directed.
- Gently massage the conditioner into the vinyl using a soft cloth or sponge.
- Conditioning helps restore UV blockers and plasticizers that prevent drying and cracking.
- Avoid silicone-based products. These can dry out the vinyl and may void your warranty.
🔁 Clean the Underside
- Before placing the cover back on the spa, wipe down the underside to remove dirt or chemical buildup.
- This prevents material breakdown and helps the cover stay in peak condition.
🧼 Care More Often if Needed
- Clean and condition more frequently if your spa is in direct sun, harsh weather, or high-use environments.
- Routine care keeps your cover looking great and performing better, longer.
🎯 Vinyl Expectations
Some changes to the vinyl — especially underneath — are normal over time.
- Exposure to spa heat and chemicals can darken or lighten the vinyl underside and slightly raise its texture.
- These changes are cosmetic only and do not affect performance.
